Conjoined Twins.Can they Survive?

I have recently seen the news about these siamese/conjoined twins. Here is my article which comprises some similiar cases also. This article is the collection/research of the similar cases

Rare Birth Deffects
conjoined twins sharing same heart:Courtesy:

A two-headed born baby is pictured in Anajas, northern Brazil December 21, 2011. Doctors in Brazil said on Wednesday said they are unsure whether they can operate on a baby born with two heads, although the newborn boy is in stable condition. The "twins", named Jesus and Emanuel, have two brains, two backbones But they share vital organs such as a heart, liver and lungs.

Birth defects like the Mermaid syndrome, a deformity where the legs are fused together, Craniopagus, a phenomenon where twins are joined at the head, and Dicephalic parapagus, a condition of having two heads, occur rarely but prove challenging to the medical world. Recently in Brazil, a baby was born with two heads; Jesus and Emanuel are in stable condition, but doctors are hesitant to perform surgery is such delicate conditions.

Can they be separated??
Conjoined twins occur once in every 200,000 births, according to the University of Maryland Medical Center website, but there are no statistics for the frequency of this particular kind of twinning. As for how conjoined twins are formed, there are two theories: fusion and fission

In the fusion theory, he says, two zygotes form and then come together, with the joining happening in a number of ways. In the fission theory, cells divide into two separate entities but never do so completely, remaining attached.

Separating them wouldn't be recommended, since they share vital organs. "In this particular case the kids lack a second body, so they don't have that component," he said.

Do you know about the Hensel twins???
But The Hensel twins also have some separate organs, such as hearts and stomachs.

Similiar Cases:

Emma and Taylor Bailey
The twins shared a chest cavity, heart and a liver. The had two surgery to undergo. One for increasing efficiency of heart and then separate the twins after they gained sufficient weight ,may be an year after but when surgeons tried to make their shared heart work more efficiently ,the babies Died

Taylor and Emma Bailey

Rebecca and lucia
The fact is....
The medical term for Rebecca and Lucia's case is thoracopagus and the fact they share the same heart makes surgery and survival even more complicated.
Conjoined twin girls Rebecca and Lucia are being cared for at the Sant Orsola Hospital in Bologna, Italy. Doctors can only save one of them because they share a heart
But the sad part is doctor could save none.

Some debating topics: Some say these kids must be aborted,But I disagree on this because its gods will .Let god decide and not us about it.
Do check my article about abortion which I had written previously:

Conclusion: No surgery was success where conjoined twins share heart and liver. It makes them tough to live the life sharing both...But why not a miracle can happen?? Lets Pray for these cute kids to survive .

Charles Schultz Philosophy

The following is the philosophy of Charles Schultz, the creator of the "Peanuts" comic strip. You don't have to actually answer the questions. Just read the post straight through, and you'll get the point.

1. Name the five wealthiest people in the world.

2. Name the last five Heisman trophy winners.

3. Name the last five winners of the Miss America Contest.

4. Name ten people who have won the Nobel or Pulitzer Prize.

5. Name the last half dozen Academy Award winners for best actor and actress.

6. Name the last decade's worth of World Series winners.

How did you do?

The point is, none of us remember the headliners of yesterday. They are not second-rate achievers. They are the best in their fields. But the applause dies. Awards tarnish. Achievements are forgotten. Accolades and certificates are buried with their owners.

Here's another quiz. See how you do on this one:

1. List a few teachers who aided your journey through school.

2.. Name three friends who have helped you through a difficult time.

3. Name five people who have taught you something worthwhile.

4. Think of a few people who have made you feel appreciated and special.

5. Think of five people you enjoy spending time with.

The lesson: The people who make a difference in your life are NOT the ones with the most credentials, the most money, or the most awards. They are the ones who care.
